Freckles and Flowers
{Maple Valley Family Photographer}

Im so in love with the colors of summer. Golden grass and wild flowers. One of my fave locations is this field that explodes with daisy flowers as the first welcome of summer weather. They dont last long, but I love taking advantage of it while I can. Took this adorable family down for their first every family photoshoot. The kids loved running in the flowers.

A Surprise Engagement

I always feel so lucky and blessed as a photographer to have moments of being deeply involved with a family. This woman here is one of the many that I have had the great joy of capturing some pretty big milestones for over the years. Some happy, some sad, then back to happy. This shoot started out with just a few photos of her and her daughter, but I was pulled aside mid shoot by her boyfriend for a wonderful surprise. He was going to pop the question. The moments up to it I was shaking for him. The ring was tucked away in his coat pocket that was laying on the ground behind me. I then said, “hey lets change the look and add your coat. He grabbed it, reached in then tossed the jacket aside. PERFECT. Down on one knee he went and the rest well is history. SHE SAID YES. This fall I will be shooting there wedding in Lake Chelan. I could not be more happy for them. Life is beautiful.

So this might be the longest known family I have ever shot. This extended family shoot was a blast and it got me to the opportunity to see my 4th grade elementary teacher again. The one who made me wear my glasses in class. LOL Funny how you remember the worst things in life and when you’re in the 4th grade wearing coke bottle glasses is never a fun experience. This family was full of fun, laughter and a love/hate revivals between the University of Washington and Washington Sate University. Perfect day to capture the whole family. Something everyone should do every few years.

Little behind on the blog again but here is a great extended family shoot done earlier this year. This family was a lot of fun. I always love getting shots of grandma and grandpa, the heart of the family. So many fun laughs from this one. Especially the tickle’s from dad to the littlest ones in the group. Dad’s give the best tickles and giggles, every time.
