{Valentine Mini Sessions}

This month I had my 2nd annual valentines mini sessions. These are always fun sessions. Hearts, suckers, and cute red outfits on my littlest clients. This year we faced some harsh weather. The morning started pretty smooth but as we progressed through the day rain, wind and cold made an ugly appearance. My poor little clients were such troopers to smile through the cold. Luckily minis are fast sessions, so I did my best to get them back in the warmth of their car as soon as possible. Here are a few cute ones from the day.

The search is on –
Looking for Class of 2014 senior reps

I’ve always had so much fun working with my Senior graduating class sessions. I really wanted to raise the bar this year and work with more. So I’m launching my 1st Senior Rep Program. Angie Cox Photography will be looking for Class of 2014 Seniors to represent us in the 2013 – 2014 school year.

Reps will earn 50% off their session – plus a $50 print credit on their own personal 2 hour photo shoot session

Then later in the year I will gather the group for a super fun group styled shoot. Think prom dresses and grassy fields!!! You will be able to select 6 of those images for your own free of charge.

So whats required you might ask?

You must be a 2014 grad from a Washington South Puget Sound School. Sign a model release. And help us promote Angie Cox Photography to your school mates.  Pay in full for the Senior “big shoot” session fee package with your discount applied by April 1st 2013. (discount does not include CD, digital images, and is only a discount on the session fee Reg $200, taxes do apply)

Little Miracles
{Enumclaw Newborn Photographer}

Welcome to my very first little newborn of 2013.  This session holds a special place for me because she to me is not any little newborn client. She is the daughter to my best friend’s, whom I have known since we were in the 2nd grade, little sister. Therefore, I have known the new mom since she was a young child and was a staple in this families life my entire adolescence life. I don’t think there was a day after school from Jr High and High School that we didn’t meet in the family’s home for our religious ritual of chips and salsa and teenage shenanigans.

Baby “G” is her families little miracle baby that they have been waiting for a long time to arrive. During our session I recalled a moment last year prior to her mom becoming pregnant. I noticed from across the room her staring at a young mother, much like herself, as she was soothing her crying child. Her eyes lit up so fondly at the site of the baby. I could feel her longing for her own in that stare. I knew that she was going to make such a wonderful mother someday and be graced with a child of her own to hold and snuggle.  So naturally now that her baby has arrived, to capture this moment for her, her husband, her sisters, and her parents (grandma and grandpa) means so very much to me.  Enjoy some of the images we captured from the day and join me in welcoming this little miracle to the world!!!

With Baby Makes 3

I met up last weekend with the “C” family to shoot the beginning of their Belly to Baby session. It’s been a busy time of maternity and newborn shoots for me, which has been awesome cause I love capturing the excitement of the HUGE moment for new time parents. We headed out to one of my favorite locations on a chilly Saturday morning. The ground was still lightly glazed with a layer of icy snow left way from the week prior and the sun filled the sky, making way for wonderful reflection off my camera’s lens. It was COLD though. Near the end of the session my little fingers were having a hard time turning the dials of my Canon 5D Mark II. However, we all got through the session without getting to chilly and on the way home I scanned through the images at a nearby coffee shop in excitement to get home and start editing.  Congrats to the family to be. I can not wait to meet your little girl.

As a two-time small business owner I have had my share of learning curves. I however been very lucky along the way to meet with other entrepreneurs who have been so kind to offer advise and teach me things. Their kindness has made me a better more profitable business owner. What better way for me then to “pay it forward” and help others. One of my long time clients had a talent for creating hair bows and I told her – if you ever decide to go public with them I would love to shoot a few for you and help you get your start.  So when she told me she was ready – I was more than happy to help.  Named after her own daughter,  Faith in Ribbons was launched this year offering unique handmade head pieces for holidays, birthdays, or everyday.

For this shoot we focused on the Valentines collection. I’ll have a few of these available for use as well on my Valentines day mini sessions on Jan 27th.
