Dairy Farm Love {Puyallup Family Photographer}

There is a little dairy farm located past Puyallup that every photographer in the South Sound Area raves over, the Historic Mayflower Dairy. Three years into my business I had yet to be to the location because I knew it was always packed. However last weekend I decided hey lets give it a shot. Me and my family arrived early and had the place to ourselves for over an hour before 4 other photographers and clients showed up. It was all the awesomeness I had heard it would be; old farm houses, fields, and low branched trees. Me and the “S” family (whom I shot their daughters senior portraits just last year} had a great time. Total loose and fun family filled with lots of laughter and love. Makes my job easy. I think the funnest moment of the day was when I had them jumping and when dad put his 18 year old daughter on his shoulders – forever Daddy’s girl. Love it! Im sure I will make the hour drive out there again – but will remember to go early.

Luvingly Made Family {Enumclaw Family Photographer}

Last year I met the creator of Luvingly Made hand knitted items at The Enumclaw Street fair and since then become close networking buddies. I was beyond excited when she asked me recently to photograph her family at their Enumclaw farmhouse. The weather was perfectly perfect – a welcome break from a week of solid rain. And well the property, let me just say I was giddy the moment I arrived in the driveway. Land, trees, old buildings/barns and antique cars. A photographers playground. I think I could have stayed there all night. Here are a few of my favorites from the night.

Country Love {Enumclaw Family Photographer}

I love shooting locally where I live. Not only is the commute (5 minutes or less) awesome but I live in a community where the land is breath-taking. I got to meet up with the “M” Family earlier this month on their home property. Home shoots are so much fun cause you get personal pieces of the family as our backdrop. Some of my favorite images are those of Little Mr. J and his mothers childhood horse (whom she had owned for 20 years). Quite a milestone moment to have an image of two things that mean the world to her. Check out some of this country cutie and his family.

The “M” Family {Maternity Session, Bonney Lake Photographer}

I am loving this time of year for sessions. Yes it has been hit and miss when it comes to clear and sunny days, however the wild flowers that have been springing up have made the perfect backdrops for my recent sessions. I met up with the “M” family a few weeks back and we went to a magical field filled with dandelion pollen flowers (aka weeds – - LOL). Most folks when they see a field like this one see weeds. Me, well I see something different. I see a sea of hundreds of wishes. You know like you would blow when you were a kid. Wishes of goodwill and happiness for the newly growing family and baby they are to welcome into the world next month. Can’t wait to meet this little one.

The Mom Stays in the Picture {mom and me mini sessions}

Oh my goodness – first I have to say I have the best clients on the planet who trust me and my vision. I had planned this wonderful backdrop in one of my favorite, and practically unknown, Auburn Parks for the Mom and Me Mini session event. This place is great, never a person on site, bridges, ponds, birds and fish. However, I was met up with an unexpected children’s fishing tournament when I arrived. The place was PACKED! I had 8 families all on the way and no time to change locations. I was sweating to say the least to figure out how I was going to get it done. Had to think on my toes again – I have had to do that a lot lately. LOL I found a little spot with no people around near the pond and positioned my camera to crop out most all the spectators and blur them in bokeh. In the words of Tim Gunn from Project Runway, “Make it Work.” – And we did. Everyone got in and we got some great images of moms snuggling their babies old and young. I loved having the opportunity to get Mom in the photo, as we are so often behind the camera. Enjoy a few of my faves from the day of celebrating Motherhood.

Golden sunsets {Enumclaw Family Photographer}

I’m so lucky to live in the country side of Enumclaw that has so many wonderful fields, logging roads, and mountain ranges to use for family backdrops. One of my most used is just moments from my home. I know the sunrise and sunset on this location pretty well by now. It gives the most yummy light at night. I got to use it for the first time this week in shooting the “P” family who made the long trek over from downtown Seattle. Totally worth the drive as the light was PERFECT. The children look so angelic as they danced in the light of the ending day. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening.

Mama and her Girl {Enumclaw Family Photographer}

I’ve been working with this little girl and her mom now for 3 years. You would think meeting up with her at least 2 times a year she would ham it up for me but little Miss C still makes me work for every smile. No worries though – I come armed with my bag of tricks and I always win. This time I got to take some photos of her and her mom, just the two of them before then become a new family later this year when mom gets married. (PS I will be honored by shooting that as well). I can’t wait for more and more imagines with this fun and expanding family through the years. Here are a few from our sunset shoot.

The “S” Family {Bonney Lake Family Photographer}

April was a crazy month for trying to schedule shoots. Seemed as those every weekend I planned to meet up with the “S” family that the rain would not stop. Then finally it happened, after around 3 scheduled moves we got sun and man o man was it worth the wait. We headed to one of my favorite locations that I hadn’t been to since February. It was gorgeous. We had cherry blossoms, dandelions, and long lush green grass. The icy on the cake was sunshine. Gorgeous spring sunset! Loving so many from this shoot. Little man was adorable! Cant wait to watch this little guy grow.

Happy 1st Birthday Baby “A” {Maple Valley Family Photographer}

Well the old saying “April showers bring May flowers” has certainly been the true for the month of April. Just about every weekend has been a wet one for us however, we got lucky during Baby A’s photo shoot to celebrate her 1st year milestone with a clear sky for the first half of our session. Much to our dismay, the sky opened up and we were forced to run for shelter. Thinking on my feet, I recalled a little red recreational center that was not far down the road that had cover. I got lucky again – the place was empty and the red barn backdrop worked perfectly for us to do our final cake smash photos. The birthday girl and her brother were such troopers for me. Hopefully on our next visit we will have some warmer conditions for them. But for now here’s celebrating her first year of life. Happy Birthday sweetie pie!
